Horizon 2020 government underwrite: What you need to know about the HM Treasury guarantee
If the UK exits the EU with no deal in place the UK HM Treasury has made the commitment to underwrite successful grants awarded to UK participants through the Horizon 2020 programme.
Scotland Europa, Scottish Enterprise organised a webinar with Stephen Alexander the UK Horizon 2020 Legal & Financial National Contact Point which provided an overview of the HM Treasury guarantee and the latest on how it will be implemented by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal

The HM Treasury Guarantee.
In August 2016 the UK Treasury, In the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal made the commitment to underwrite successful grants awarded to UK participants through the Horizon 2020 programme. This commitment was extended to include successful applications submitted after the date UK leaves the EU until the end of the programme in 2020. The guarantee will be in place for the full life time of each project.
UKRI have been nominated to deliver the guarantee. Project holders have been requested to register their details on a dedicated portal.
